PRESENT
In the past year I've produced an hour-long 'Archive on Four' for BBC Radio 4, written articles on Jan Morris and urban development, advised a charity on its media strategy, held a workshop in Hamburg for economists wanting to communicate their research better and, most recently, taught young business people how to pitch.
2019-21
Having left the BBC, I've made several short films for international charity Caplor Horizons, developed, launched and presented Welsh National Opera's first-ever podcast, filmed and recorded a series of interviews with Gulf War veterans for The Firing Line Museum in Cardiff, written various articles and continued freelancing for the BBC.
Skills
Journalism. Video-producing: self-shoot, producer-director. Audio production: documentaries and podcasts, including hosting. Training: passing on all these skills to other journalists but also teaching people how to tell their story better, enabling them to make better pitches for business, for example. I don't teach people how to evade legitimate questioning from journalists nor do I do PR, especially the defensive kind.
Awards
Bafta Cymru, best factual programme, 'Frontline Afghanistan' (2009); Wales Media Award for best documentary, 'The Last Tour' (2014).
